Cairns Health
No SEC Form D has ever been filed under this company’s current name or its prior name, Totemic Labs. What exists instead is a set of paid company databases that disagree with each other by millions of dollars, and one that has the direction of the company’s own October 2025 acquisition backward.
Data as of September 25, 2026. Company-reported and aggregator figures are labeled.

What the filings show
Nothing. A search of SEC EDGAR’s company database for “Cairns Health,” “Totemic Labs” and “Totemic” turns up no matching filer. The only “Totemic” entity on EDGAR is an unrelated Florida beauty products LLC, and the only “Cairns” entity is CairnSurgical, an unrelated New Hampshire medical device company. A full text search of every SEC filing for the exact phrase “Cairns Health” returns ten hits, none of which is a Form D and none of which is about this company; the closest is an unrelated 8-K from a small public shell, Nordicus Partners Corp. Companies that raise money under Section 4(a)(2) rather than Regulation D file no Form D at all, so the absence does not prove no money changed hands, but it does mean there is no primary federal record of any Cairns Health or Totemic Labs financing to check the aggregator numbers against.
Reading the two databases against each other
- The total-raised figures do not agree.CB Insights puts total funding at $5.32 million. PitchBook puts it at $35.1 million. That is a difference of nearly $30 million, roughly equal to the single “Later Stage VC” round PitchBook lists for June 2021 and CB Insights does not carry at all.
- The disputed $30 million round has no outside corroboration. No press release, no news coverage and no other database record of a 2021 raise by this company, under either the Cairns Health or Totemic Labs name, was found. PitchBook’s own cap table entries for the company are mostly blank fields, which is consistent with a placeholder or templated record rather than a verified one.
- The investor lists do not overlap.CB Insights names Y Combinator, Lightspeed, Khosla Ventures and 11.2 Capital. PitchBook names Quantum Leap Ventures, Soma Capital, True Equity, 11.2 Capital and DCVC. Only 11.2 Capital appears on both lists.
- CB Insights has the acquisition backward. Its company page states Cairns Health “was acquired by Together by Renee” in October 2025. Every primary source, including the joint press release, HIT Consultant and VatorNews, describes the opposite: Cairns Health acquired Together by Renee, an app built by SixD Inc., in a deal with undisclosed terms.
- The accelerator-era numbers are the most plausible ones on the page.PitchBook’s $20,000 January 2016 and $120,000 August 2017 entries line up with the company’s own founding timeline and Y Combinator’s Summer 2017 batch listing, and $120,000 matches Y Combinator’s standard deal size in that period. They are the only funding figures here with any independent logic behind them.
- Together by Renee’s own funding is sometimes mistaken for Cairns Health’s.The acquisition announcement states that Together by Renee, the acquired company, was “supported by $8.2MM in venture investments from Quiet Capital, Tau Ventures, Mucker Capital, Fika Ventures and the AARP’s Age-Tech Collaborative.” That figure belongs to the company Cairns Health bought, not to Cairns Health itself.

What to watch
- A first Form D, which would give this profile its first primary federal funding record.
- Any independent confirmation, or retraction, of the $30 million 2021 round PitchBook alone reports.
- Whether CB Insights corrects the direction of the Together by Renee acquisition.
- Disclosed terms for the Together by Renee deal, or a follow-on raise tied to the integration.
