Frekil
A Y Combinator seed-stage startup with no SEC filing on record. What exists instead is a set of third-party trackers that do not agree on how much money it has raised, or from whom.

What the filings show
No SEC Form D turns up for Frekil Inc., or for any close variant of that name, in a search of EDGAR conducted for this profile. That is not unusual for a company this young: Regulation D filings are due within 15 days of a first sale, and a company that has not yet closed a priced round, or that raised under a different exemption, would have nothing to file yet. It does mean the funding figures below come entirely from secondhand trackers rather than a primary filing.
What is on the public record is the Indian subsidiary. Frekil AI India Private Limited was incorporated on May 28, 2025 with the Registrar of Companies in Bangalore, filed under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs as a subsidiary of a company incorporated outside India, meaning a foreign parent, presumably Frekil Inc., holds it. Its authorized capital is 1,00,000 rupees, about $1,200, and its paid-up capital is 10,000 rupees, about $120. Those are nominal, formation-stage numbers, not a signal of how much capital the group has raised overall; Indian subsidiaries of US-parented startups are routinely capitalized this thinly and funded operationally by the parent instead. The subsidiary’s listed directors are the two co-founders, Nikhil Tiwari and Shivesh Gupta.
Reading the filings
- Two trackers, two different totals.Tracxn and Standout.work both put Frekil’s total funding at $500,000 from a single seed round in June 2025, crediting Y Combinator as the investor. Prospeo’s tracker instead lists total funding at $1,000,000. Neither figure is confirmed by a primary filing, and the two do not reconcile: $500,000 is half of $1,000,000, not a rounding difference.
- A second investor appears only in a feature article.A YesPress profile of the company states that Frekil “raised seed funding with participation from Y Combinator and 7BC Venture Capital,” without a dollar amount. That is the only source naming 7BC Venture Capital found for this profile. Neither Tracxn nor Standout.work list 7BC as an investor.
- No Form D means no confirmed close date.Regulation D notices are the usual way outside observers learn when a seed round actually closed and how much was sold. Without one, “June 2025” for the $500,000 figure is a tracker’s date, not a filing date, and cannot be independently checked.
- The India entity is a cost center, not a funding source. Its 10,000-rupee paid-up capital would not cover more than token expenses on its own. Read alongside a Bengaluru registered office and both founders listed as its directors, the more likely picture is a small local operating subsidiary funded by transfers from the US parent, standard structure for an India-based team under a Delaware-style holding company, though Frekil’s own state of incorporation was not confirmed in this research.
- The batch name disagreement complicates the funding story too.Y Combinator’s own page places Frekil in its Spring 2025 batch, while other profiles call it X25. Y Combinator’s standard deal terms are public and batch-independent, so this does not change what YC itself would have invested, but it is one more instance of sources describing the same company differently.
Commercial signals
| Signal | Detail | Source type |
|---|---|---|
| Product change | Launched through Y Combinator in 2025 as a medical-image annotation platform; by 2026 rebuilt entirely around real-world evidence generation from EHR and claims data. | Public record |
| Customers | No named pharmaceutical, biotech, or CRO customers found. Three unnamed user testimonials appear on the company site. | Company-stated |
| Press coverage | Included in Inc42’s “30 Startups To Watch” for July 2026 and profiled by YesPress, both after the product pivot. | Independent |
| India footprint | Registered subsidiary in Bengaluru since May 2025, minimally capitalized, both founders as directors. | Public record |
What to watch
- A first SEC Form D for Frekil Inc., which would confirm an actual raised amount and closing date.
- Whether 7BC Venture Capital’s participation is confirmed anywhere beyond a single feature article.
- A larger, priced round as the product built around real-world evidence gains customers.
- Any increase in the Indian subsidiary’s paid-up capital, which would suggest the local entity is being built out rather than kept as a minimal outpost.
