What the filings show

No Form D notice for “Lucis,” “Maxes Company” or the SIREN 927853952 entity appears in SEC EDGAR’s company or full-text search as of September 25, 2026. That is not unusual: Lucis is a French SAS, and Form D is a US filing tied to Regulation D offerings involving US jurisdictional means or sales to US persons. A French company raising in euros from a mix of French, other-European and Silicon Valley-adjacent funds is not required to file one simply because a US-based fund like Y Combinator writes a check. What exists instead is the French corporate registry record, summarized below.

Reading the record

  1. No US securities filing exists.A search of SEC EDGAR by company name and by full text turns up nothing for Lucis or its prior name. That is expected for a French issuer raising mostly from non-US-registered vehicles, but it means the round sizes rest entirely on press releases rather than a sworn federal filing.
  2. Registered capital is nominal. The RCS lists €1,123.20 in share capital even after roughly $28 million in reported funding. That gap is normal for a French SAS, since invested cash typically sits in share premium, but it also means the registry cannot verify the funding totals independently.
  3. The entity predates the brand.Y Combinator’s page says Lucis was “founded 2025,” but the legal entity was registered April 30, 2024, as Maxes Company, and a company database separately describes Lucis as operating “formerly” as Zero Health. The 2025 date likely marks the product launch, not the incorporation.
  4. Even the independent press disagrees on the Series A euro figure.EU-Startups’ own headline states €17.3 million while its article body states €17.1 million for the same $20 million round, an unreconciled discrepancy in one outlet’s coverage.
  5. A board departure landed just before the raise was announced. The registry shows co-founder Max Guérois’s exit as director general in a filing dated April 24, 2026, roughly a month before the Series A. Some outlets covering the Series A name only two co-founders, while the Y Combinator page and December 2025 coverage name three.

What to watch

  • Whether Lucis or a US-side vehicle ever files a Form D, which would give an independently verifiable dollar figure for a future round.
  • Publication of the fiscal 2025 accounts deposited under confidentiality in May 2026, if that confidentiality lapses or a later filing discloses figures.
  • Whether Max Guérois’s departure as director general reflects a full exit from the company or a governance restructuring ahead of the Series A.
  • Confirmation of the planned Spain, Germany and Italy launches by the end of 2026.
