What the filings show
No Form D was found for Menten AI, Inc., for the name Menten Biotechnology Labs, or for any investment vehicle formed to invest in the company. The records file for this profile lists no Form D and no EDGAR mention. A web search of EDGAR filings returned nothing relevant. The money below therefore rests on press reports and company statements, not on filings.
Reading the filings
- The announced total and the named checks differ by $1M.TechCrunch reported $4M and said Khosla, Social Impact Capital and Uncork each put in $1M. Three checks of $1M is $3M, so $1M is unattributed. Y Combinator participated, and the rest is not named.
- The company later reported a larger seed.A January 2022 release says USD 6 million in seed investment. That is $2M, or 50 percent, above the 2020 report. The gap could reflect later closes or extension money. No source explains it.
- Aggregators disagree with both.Tracxn states $4.15M across 2 rounds, close to the press figure and $1.85M below the company’s. Its table lists a Mar 18, 2020 round and a Jun 30, 2020 round with different figures, so its totals cannot be reconciled from the public page.
- No filing means no check on investor count.A Form D would show how many investors bought in and how much had been sold. Companies raising under other exemptions, or through convertible notes handled outside Regulation D, file none. The absence does not show that no money moved.
- Six years without a documented round. The company has operated through 2026 with a completed Bristol Myers Squibb collaboration on its own account, a 2024 revenue estimate of $2.1M from GetLatka, and about 14 staff in December 2024 by the same source. If those are accurate, the business has been funded by customers, undisclosed capital, or both.
