What the filings show

Nothing. A search of SEC EDGAR’s full text index for every filing type turns up no result for “Kuleana Inc,” no result for “Current Foods, Inc,” and no result mentioning founder Jacek Prus. The only “Kuleana” entities on EDGAR are Kuleana Spirits, Inc., a Hawaii rum distillery, Kuleana Technology, Inc., a Seattle filer, and Kuleana Capital A1 LLC, a Virginia investment vehicle. None share an address, officer or filing history with the San Francisco seafood company. Wicked Kitchen, the acquirer, is also not an SEC filer.

This does not mean Current Foods raised nothing. Companies that sell under Section 4(a)(2) of the Securities Act, rather than the Regulation D safe harbor, are not required to file a Form D, and a company can also file under a name a fund administrator chose rather than its own legal name, which a name based search would miss. What can be said is narrower: no notice of any exempt offering, under any commonly used name for this company, appears in EDGAR’s full text search as of September 25, 2026.

Reading the record

  1. The company’s own funding count already disagrees with itself.Current Foods announced an $18 million Seed round in June 2022. A funding and company data aggregator lists that same period as part of a $21.1 million total spread over three named rounds, in 2020, 2021 and 2022. Adding the aggregator’s three figures comes to $21.15 million, close to but not exactly its own rounded $21.1 million headline, and none of the public reporting reconciles the $18 million company figure with the aggregator’s larger total.
  2. Marquee names sit on an unverifiable round. The aggregator’s account of the March 2021 Seed lists Andreessen Horowitz, Coatue, Founders Fund, General Catalyst, Ribbit Capital and Spark Capital among many others. No press release or SEC filing corroborates this round independently. It should be read as a compiled, third party claim, not a confirmed fact.
  3. No Form D means no filing based signal on investor count. For a company with SEC notices on file, the investor count and per check math is often the most useful evidence here. There is none: no filing shows how much of a round had actually sold at the time it was announced.
  4. The acquisition price is missing for a structural reason, not a secretive one.Wicked Kitchen is privately held and not an SEC filer, so an all stock deal between two private companies produces no regulatory filing that would disclose a valuation or exchange ratio. Food Dive and Just Food both independently reported the terms as undisclosed.
  5. The buyer’s own finances give a rough outside comparison.Just Food reported that Wicked Kitchen had raised $34 million in total funding as of its 2022 Good Catch acquisition, including a $20 million bridge round from investors such as actor Woody Harrelson and Ahimsa VC. That places Wicked Kitchen’s own disclosed capital base in the same order of magnitude as Current Foods’ reported $21.1 million, for context on the relative size of the two companies at the time of the deal.

What to watch

  • Whether any Form D ever appears for Kuleana or Current Foods under a name this search has not tried.
  • Any trademark assignment record that would show what Wicked Kitchen holds today under the Current Foods or Kuleana marks.
  • Whether Wicked Kitchen, or a future owner, ever discloses what it paid in the 2023 all stock deal.
  • Whether Wicked Kitchen itself remains a going concern, given its own 2026 homepage describes an extended pause in operations.
