What the filings show

No Form D notice or other SEC filing under the name Exonic, in San Francisco or otherwise matching this company, appears in EDGAR’s company search as of September 2026. The only close name match is Exonics Therapeutics, Inc., CIK 0001722820, a Delaware company that was based in Watertown, Massachusetts and filed a Form D in November 2017 and an amendment in November 2018. That company made a gene therapy for Duchenne muscular dystrophy and is unrelated to this Exonic beyond the similar name.

Absent a filing, the figures above are drawn from private market data aggregators that track company funding without disclosing their sourcing methods in full, rather than from primary securities filings, so they are labeled and weighed accordingly.

Reading the filings

  1. No Form D exists to check.Companies raising under Rule 506(b) are generally expected to file a Form D within 15 days of a first sale of securities. Nothing under Exonic’s name has been filed. That does not prove no money moved: a company can raise under Section 4(a)(2) without ever filing a Form D, or a filing can be late or missed entirely.
  2. Two aggregators agree on the amount, not the date.Tracxn and PitchBook both put total funding at $500,000, but Tracxn dates the seed round to September 29, 2025, while PitchBook’s funding table dates a seed round to November 17, 2025 and lists a separate, undated accelerator event on January 1, 2025. The gap could reflect a first close and a final close, or one figure could be wrong.
  3. A third aggregator reports double.Extruct AI headlines the company’s funding at $1 million, with no round, date or investor detail behind the number. Whether that reflects a later, unfiled raise or a data error is not something this profile can settle.
  4. The investor list has no lead.PitchBook names three investors, Y Combinator, Exitfund and Pioneer Fund, without marking any of them as lead or disclosing check sizes. No press release naming any of them was found.
  5. The accelerator and the seed round may be double counted.PitchBook logs Exonic’s Y Combinator participation as a separate “Accelerator/Incubator” deal from its seed round. Whether PitchBook’s $500,000 total includes Y Combinator’s investment or sits on top of it is not stated.
