What the filings show
Nothing. A search of SEC EDGAR’s company database for “Kaigo” and for “Kaigo Health” returns no matching filer as of September 25, 2026, and no Form D appears under either name. That is not unusual for a company only months past its Y Combinator check, since a Form D is only required within 15 days of a first sale of securities under Regulation D, and a company funded solely by its accelerator and informal angels may not have triggered that filing yet. It does mean there is no filed document to check the announced numbers against.
Reading the record
- The one hard number is the YC check.$500,000 for 7 percent equity is the standard deal every Y Combinator Fall 2025 company received, confirmed independently by a University of Illinois alumni release describing the whole F25 cohort’s terms, not something unique to Kaigo.
- Two aggregators disagree with each other.Extruct AI headlines its profile “Kaigo Health Funding: $1M” but its own body text only describes the $500,000 YC round, with no source for the larger figure. StartupHub.ai, scanning the same public footprint, lists total funding as unavailable. Neither can be checked against a filing.
- No priced round has been announced.Every public mention of Kaigo’s money traces back to the same October 2025 YC seed. No seed extension, angel round or Series A has been reported by the company or by any outlet found in this research.
- The advisory board points toward the newer product line. The company’s own website names healthcare veterans focused on skilled nursing, including a CAHF region chair and a nursing home administrator, alongside the general advisors named in the October 2025 funding post. That mix lines up with the SNF revenue recovery service now described on the site, more than with the original Medicare outpatient monitoring pitch.
Commercial signals
| Signal | Detail | Source type |
|---|---|---|
| Accelerator | Y Combinator Fall 2025 batch, demo day early December 2025. | Independent |
| Team size | 3 people, unchanged since founding per available profiles. | Independent |
| Named customers | None. One unnamed “5-star, 34-bed” skilled nursing facility used as a case study on the company site. | Company-stated |
| Product line | Company site now describes only SNF billing recovery. Earlier coverage described Medicare outpatient voice agents. No public statement reconciles the two. | Differs from earlier record |
| Regulatory or research footprint | No FDA record, registered trial, NIH award or SEC filing found under the company name. | Public record |
What to watch
- A first Form D, which would confirm how much has actually been raised beyond the YC check.
- Whether the $1M total funding figure from a third party aggregator is ever confirmed or corrected by the company.
- A named lead investor for any round beyond Y Combinator.
- Whether the company discloses revenue from its skilled nursing facility billing recovery service, which appears to be its current focus.
