Attunement

No SEC Form D has been filed under the name Attunement or Attunement AI. What exists is a reported Y Combinator seed round of about $500,000, aggregator data that disagrees on whether the company has raised anything at all, and no later round of any kind on record.

What the filings show

Nothing. A search of SEC EDGAR’s company database for issuers named Attunement or Attunement AI, and a full text search of Form D filings for the phrase “Attunement AI,” returned no results as of September 25, 2026. A separate record already on file for this profile, a Form D from PMO Chicago Holdings, LLC filed in December 2015, could not be tied to this company in any way, its name does not match, its filing date predates Attunement’s 2024 founding by nine years, and it is excluded from this page.

Reading the filings

  1. No Form D does not mean no money moved.Y Combinator’s standard deal issues a SAFE, and very early or very small rounds are sometimes closed under exemptions that do not require a Form D, or simply go unfiled for a stretch before a company’s first SEC filing. Either is consistent with what is on the record here: nothing.
  2. The aggregators do not agree with each other.CB Insights and Tracxn both list $500,000 total raised from Y Combinator and Ride Home Fund. A Getlatka profile, last touched in September 2026, lists $0 raised and says explicitly it has no funding information for the company. Neither cites a primary source, and there is no way from public records to say which is closer to current reality.
  3. The only larger figure comes from a founder’s own bio, not a filing.Co-founder Briar Smith’s Forbes Technology Council profile states that Attunement “raised 1.5M+ USD in funding, including from the founder of the hashtag, Chris Messina through Ride Home AI Fund, one of the founders of Pebble Watch, and several healthtech angels.” That is three times the figure the aggregators show, names no specific amounts per investor, and is not corroborated by any filing or independent report found.
  4. Y Combinator’s standard terms give a floor, not a ceiling.Independent reporting on the Winter 2024 batch, via University of Waterloo News, notes that YC funds successful applicants with $500,000 as part of the standard deal. That matches the aggregator figure and is the most defensible number here, but it describes what YC offers broadly, not a confirmed disbursement specific to Attunement.
  5. No later round shows up anywhere. No Series A, bridge, or subsequent seed extension was found in any source, filed or reported, as of September 25, 2026.

What to watch

  • Any Form D filing under Attunement, Attunement AI, or a related SPV name.
  • Whether the $1.5M figure in Briar Smith’s own bio is ever repeated or confirmed elsewhere, or whether it is a stale or inflated claim.
  • Clarification of current leadership and whether the company still operates with two founders or one.
  • Any named institutional or venture investor beyond Y Combinator and Ride Home Fund.
